With the introduction of the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) from 1st July 2000, the Australian Government incentive provides financial assistance to Australians who are buying their first home.

To be eligible you must have entered into an eligible transaction and be 18years and over, an Australian citizen or permanent resident and the applicants must not have previously purchased and occupied residential property anywhere in Australia, as a place of residence on or after 1 July 2000.

The Australian Government also introduced First Home Owner Boost (FHOB) from 14th October 2008 until the 30th of September 2009, increasing the standard funding to $14,000 for established homes and $21,000 for newly completed or construction homes. 

From the 1st of October this grant will be reduced and by the 1st of January 2010 the Boost will disappear and only the FHOG of $7,000 will be available for both established or homes under construction.First Home Buying is Easy with Dencorp
